The Launch Box developed a suite of illustrations for the Victorian Electoral Commission (VEC) to help communicate with target communities and the general public about local council elections.
The VEC recognises that not everyone understands many of the terminologies and concepts relating to local council elections, particularly people from a culturally and linguistically diverse background. The illustrations we designed helped the Commission with its community education work and to explain local council elections in more detail.
The illustrations were used to develop five animations to distribute information on four topics: general enrolment, postal elections, general attendance elections and voting rights for people experiencing homelessness.
The Commission used the animations on social and digital media channels.
The Launch Box also produced a Voting Planner to be used in disability carer workshops, with the aim of increasing carers knowledge about voting and how to assist people with disability to participate in local council elections.
